I made these up to setup with my poster display at the car shows I enter.

I'm just starting out so I know there's not much profit in that, but what I'm really wanting to do is to get a portfolio made up eventually to where I can show people some quality work and be able to charge more.

I also know this isn't really "quality" work yet either, I'm learning everything as I go...

I've always thought that it was short sighted to NOT give out prices easily. It can save a lot of wasted time when I'm $100 and they think that they'll get change from $10!

Having said that I'm just not sure if I would have my prices quite so "in your face" as you have above. I definitely would have a printed price list, and I'd give it away freely; but I'd want a potential client to ask me for it. They may think that you are very much overpriced and will walk by your booth if all they see are the prices without hearing what kind of effort you put into these shots and designs. All they "see" are the prints, which cost $1.99 for an 8x10 at a Walmart and don't "get it" unless you can explain it to them.

My suggestion is to just show your great images and designs, and have a price list ready to go when someone asks. Just don't put the price list on the wall.

sounds like a good idea. I don't really have booths though I just enter the truck into shows and have my 24x36 poster with details on it.

I think I may put the first image up with the poster, and keep the price list on hand for those interested.

thank you for the advice

You also may want to get a booth!

Here's one thing...compositionally this is off a bit. Your wording on the first page is dead center...which cuts the page and makes it difficult to read.

Cheers,

1. What would a sign company charge for the same thing?
2. I can't read your url. Other guys won't be able to, either.

i'm not sure what a sign company would charge, i called up kinkos to see about a print this size and he quoted me at $96 just for the print

I know the URL is hard to read, i'm working on remaking it with a different font now.

thanks!

I asked because I've seen some from the sign shops that are laminated in plastic.

I really like them. The only thing I would suggest is to try something fifferent for the text of your website, because I had a hard time reading it when I wanted to check out your website

Seems like that's what most people are saying. I need to figure out a better font than the "Dodger" font.

On a good note, here is my first *paying* job (framed it after the photo, and the picture was with a crappy Nikon P&S camera I had laying around)

He was so excited about it he wants me to make another print for his house, and one to send to his sister in Arizona. Also said he wants to do his motorcycle sometime this summer.

i went out to a small show yesterday and quite a few people seemed interested and said they'd call me about it. I handed out a lot of flyers & cards so hopefull I'll get some feedback on it.

Your prices seem rather low for the quality of the work you do. It is as if you were charging just for printmaking and and the included price of the photography was zero. Your time is valuable and your work is good.

I appreciate you saying that, but since I am just starting out I figured I had better start pretty low. People around here don't want to spend any money as it is.

thanks for the kind words though

I updated the original flyers with a new (hopefully easier to read) logo, and added some photo options. I really don't know what's an honest price to charge from an amateur, but I hope these are reasonable.

ANY feedback is appreciated!
