This is my first sighting of this bird. Unfortunately not the greatest lighting and the beak is blown. But I was happy this guy came fairly close to me. Thank you for viewing.

Nice find. I saw one fly by me recently and did not even know what I saw. I like the look of them. Yellow heads on that black body makes for an unique looking bird.

Congrats on the first, Dennis. I was excited when i saw my first YHBB. They are not as easy to spook compared to other birds but they are hard to meter on. :lol:

Nice shots Dennis. I just saw my first this morning. Very hard to get the lighting right.

Thanks Keith, Fee and Mitch for looking. There is a spot at the refuge where all sorts of blackbirds hang out but it is a spot where the sun is backlighting the subject. The only way to get over to the other side is to do some swimming! I had to at least try to get an image even tho I knew it wouldn't be exceptional. Thanks for the comments!
