I posted a pic a while back of my neice getting ready for her nap. I got alot of great suggestions and even one POTN member that said he would fix it up for me, but I really wanted to do it myself. I am not new to photography, but I am new to digital photogrphy and all the software involved. I took this shot very quick with no flash in VERY low light. Because of that I had set my ISO to 800 and there was alot of noise. Since that post I've worked on this pic to give to my sis framed and matted for Mother's Day. After all the great suggestions and tips I came up with these two pics so far. Several suggested cutting out the bow on her head, but I liked it with the bow. These shots were cropped from a slightly larger pic. My family doesn't care if it's blurry, overexposed.....whatever, but I'm picky and these are my results so far. Any suggestions. Oh by the way....I accidently deleted the original, so I'm working off of several other versions of this pic. Thanks.

She is cute and this is a great photograph. Just a couple thoughts - the bow is only an issue because it looks like a mistake - if it were all there or not at all there you would be okay. The earring also makes the image. I also found that the bright sweater on the right side attracts my eye away from the subject. You could tone this area down if you wanted or you could crop it out. I took look (crop and levels adjustment especially brighten the face) and ended up with thie image attached. It is still a little bright on the lower right. Good luck, Dennis

Thanks. I still have a few days to work on it before I need to frame it up. I like the lighter color you did there. I thought my version was lighter than it was, but I'm at work now on my laptop and the screen resolution is much better than my home computer. I agree the sweater is distracting and the bow kinda throws things off. I guess I need to crop it a little tighter to focus more on her face. I'm kind of new to the Photoshop CS2 that I have, but I really like the way it cleaned up the terrible ISO 800 noise. I just need to learn to use the curves, color, and brightness features a little more. Thanks to you guys I'm learning from the sample images you send back to me. Thanks again.
