WOW! 2200mAh!!!
http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/s.nl/c.ACCT139057/sc.2/category.99/it.A/id.449/.f
Quantity Price
1 $23.99
2 – 3 $21.99
4 + $18.99
And: "These are up for Pre order they are not going to be in stock until the end of May. We are only getting 400pcs on the first run so I suggest everyone to get orders in ASAP."
Also (as expected): "*This is NOT branded by canon. However this battery is guaranteed to work as good, if not better than the Canon branded batteries."
The second quote is the one that matters - there is too much chance of getting a low-quality battery that becomes a waste of money. Not for the MKII, necessarily, since the market for them will be small. But it forced me to rant a little about the $10 wonder-batteries.

People have been using non-Canon batteries for years with no detrimental results.

Yes, but not all non-Canon batteries will work for years with no detrimental results. That's why I think the second statement is the important one. If the vendor does not make that statement, I am less likely to want to buy their product. :D

What is the exact wording of the 'guarantee'?
A lot of vendors 'guarantee' a lot of things, but actually mean 'promise'.
Still, you have to try it out yourself ... good luck on that one !
Best regards,

For 24 bucks... thats a great deal. If I had a 1D I'd use them for sure.

The question here is, are they sealed like the Canon batteries? If they don't have the sames sealing strip and quality of locking mechanism then I personally wouldn't touch them.

Well...
They may sell out quick.. and they may be junk... but I ordered a few last night. We'll see. I suspect that Kenny is right.. they won't seal like the Canon's... but I think if they work I'll use them anyways.. I'll just use the Canon when the sealed body is important.
We'll see.

Same here. I figured I could run them throgh a couple charge/discharge cycles and check the battery temps to make sure they aren't going to grenade on me. If the voltages are decent I will keep them as "spares" for long shoots etc.
Thanks for the post/links.
now only if the prices of cameras came down I would be in heaven...until then....I'll settle for paradise...
