I was in circuit city store today and they had 30d with kit lens for $1099. I asked the clerk about it and they said they were reducing stock, I asked why and he said they did not want to have too many in case canon came out with a replacement. Its on sale til the 12th.

I was in Circuit City 6/3 and the had the 30D body for $999, which is cheaper than B &H.

Think this could mean the 40D is coming???

Yeah, I have been leaving the 100-400 on the 30d, with the 100 2.8 usm in reserve and the 28-75 on D60 for wife. The 50 1.4 generally sits on the Elan 7e. It works out great being able to grab a camera that is set up already one way or the other in a LowePro holster, snap on a case for the Macro and/or a 430ex if needed and go do it asap without a lot of changing around. If I put it all together in my Tamrac back pack, I almost can't lift it. Getting hot in AZ yet? I will be going to Peoria AZ before long.

yep, 100+ no problems now. The only time it really bothers me is when I take out the camera, so I try to do things early. Other than that I'm fine with the heat.

For sure, for sure and it's a good thing!:D:D:D Imagine Canon stopping new camera development. It would be tragic so welcome new stuff big time!;)

If it was coming, Circuit City wouldn't know it so no!

The 40D is coming though, we just don't know when. Could be August, September, maybe even spring next year. No one really knows. I know I'm still impatiently waiting for it. I have the money now and I'm trying not to spend it on some "L" piece of glass. I love "L"'s!!!

Someone want to remind me what the 40D is supposed to have. I know there is no guarantee until it is actually released, but what what are the rumors saying it will have?

Remind me please, I'm waiting for it, but haven't seen specs in a while.

I have seen the 30D with kit at a local Circuit City for 999 with kit lens. I so wanted to buy it, but I really want to see what the successor will have.

Now I remember I bought my 20D from Circuity City on line in Aug of 2005, for like $250 less than Best Buy. And while Best Buy says they price match, they would not match that. It was not a on-line special either. I could have picked up in store. But none in Phoenix would have had to drive to Tucson.

Anyway my point is that was Fall of 2005 and 30D did come out Spring of 2006. So I think 40D on way Fall of 2007.

To think that CC would not know is just silly. They are a national chain that have termendous buying power. Yes the lowly store manager would not know but I'm sure the executive VP in purchasing would know especially if they just finish negotiating a exclusive release date promo with Canon. After all it is a Prosumer Body.

i think my wife paid more than that when i got mine as a xmas gift in '05. :cry:
