After fooling around with digital portrait photography and my D30, I decided to get a little more serious with this hobby when I acquired my D60. I needed to keep the budget tight for lighting equipment after the D60 purchase. Fortunately digital cameras are so flexible in ISO speed and white balance; an inexpensive setup can work very well. I purchased the smallest JTL two-strobe setup which includes two 110 w/s monolights, stands and umbrellas. Also, I acquired an older used Novatron 400VR with two heads, stands, and large silver/white umbrellas. I needed to have the Novatron modified to a 6 volt trigger just to be on the safe side using the D60’s PC terminal. Total investment for the lighting setup to-date is less than $800. Recently I coerced my wife and kids to model for some studio lighting experiments. You can view the experiment at: http://www.dpcg.com/d60 Comments are welcome, be kind, I’m still learning the art of digital photography! …Dan

I liked your work . . . your postings showed great detail and makes me even more interested in eventually getting the D60 I've had on order for a while.
Cheers,
Joe
