So I had a SanDisk standard 512mb card for about a year (bought it with my S50) and I wasn't all that pleased with it's speed, so I decided to order a SanDisk Extreme 512 to add to it. Found one on eBay with a buy it now of $125 which I thought was fair. Received it in about 4 days brand new sealed in the box.

So far I'm impressed! It seems about 2-3x as fast, especially when writing huge files. I'd imagine that it supports read write speeds higher than the 300D can handle, but is there a list somewhere of various DSLR's and their read/write speeds internal to the camera?

THanks
Adam

Not a list of camera speeds, but Rob Galbraith maintains a fairly extensive CF card performance database with references for many DSLRs. Look here:

Hope this helps.

Look at it from the bright side: now you know there's room for improvement...... :)

I'm using a Delkin Devices 512 MB card. It doesn't have any special speed rating, and it isn't on Rob Galbraith's site, but last week I used one of my old 128 MB Sandisk cards, and that one was so slow compared to my 512 MB card! Seems that there can even be a difference between cards that are not marked as being fast.
