I shot this last week, while engaged in some arduous R&R. I was walking by with my camera always at low ready, and as I passed the vision of the photo came to me. I tried two frames. This is the one that is leveled.
Personally I like it. I can readily see the usual technical critiques.
I am mostly interested in your comments of this photo, does it tell a story, do you get it, etc.
Thanks for the willing eye...
BTW: I am getting Media Pass for the Opening of an upcoming big ride during June, so if comments are positive, I might try to replicate. At the time I took this one, we were awaiting fireworks, and it took all strength to keep people from pushing me over. The next time, I will probably do it earlier, focusing on the castle rather than the fireworks.

I like it! It tells the story of when disney was young and Walt himself made decisions for the company

Thanks. This image is no crop (1.3 factor from camera) and only tonal and range modifications, the purple was overwhelming in the castle, and the noise reduction made a world of difference.
My own comment would be in regards to the pair, I think the Disney/Mickey Statue would have worked better on the right hand side of the photo. I do remember not being able to do that, since the statue is located in the center of a landscaped circle, and tiny foliage trees I believe prevented me from actually composing it that way. But when I return, I will just wait for a quiet moment and spend more time recomposing. It would probably make a more positive influence. I am not sure if this was a Tripod shot (Do not think so), so I might be able to mount the camera the second time, and use a longer exposure with stepped down ISO and aperture. Anyhow, anyone else to comment?

nice picture, it does tell a story.
some PP cleanup in some areas would help.

I would have liked to see the full body of the man and Mickey. As it is now i find it a bit .....incomplete.

Thanks for the comment, Bollan. I wonder about a portrait version of the shot...

I think this is a lovely photo with the potential to be great.
I think it would be improved if you could shoot it from further back, so that the entire statue was silhouetted against the castle. (Though I realise that might not be possible!)
Alternatively, if you're not morally opposed to PP, you could artifically lighten/colour the sky and black out the statue to form a pure silhouette. I think that would be preferable anyway, as it looks to me as if the figures in the statue have their backs to the castle, whereas it would tell a better story if they were facing it and pointing at it. Turn them into silhouettes, and it will look like they're facing it.
Since you've got "image editing OK" in your profile, I've taken the liberty of knocking out a 2-minute version to show you the sort of thing I have in mind. Hope it's useful!

Thanks StewartR, I had not thought of doing that. It does already look 1000% better.
I appreciate the Edit very much.
