Spotted this hoverfly at the same time as the Jumper. Was very nervous, only got the one chance to grab this shot, reasonably happy, managed to get some eye detail in its right eye in the split second that I had to focus. Yes, I know it's not the closest eye, but...it's better than nothing.

Hiya Dave,
Great shot, I don't think getting the Eye shot is always that important, sometimes it's the shot as a whole, also like the lighting & comp.

Very nice shot. I agree that it'd make a nice cover for some bug text book. The light and shadow on that flower and the composition make the shot for me.
