View Full Version : Building My Own Site?

I want to build a REALLY basic site to showcase my photography and then sell prints through PayPal. I have a plotter that I use to print my own prints and I can mount them on a foam board myself and everything so I don't see the point in letting another site (like smugmug) take commission on it.

What I want to be able to do is have a basic site like my current one, only with a specific domain and the ability to add more pages and whatnot. Right now I'm having a gallery hosted on a friend's site but as you can tell, the hyperlink is really hard to spread by word of mouth and doesn't look as professional as I'd like.

So what I'm asking is how do I register a domain name, host that domain name, and then build a site as basic as the one that I posted but with a few more features. Thanks!

I'm curious to know what package your current site is using. It's close to what I want.

My current site? I'm just using their gallery software, it's just a CSS code sheet and then their built-in uploading software.

try www.freewebs.com

It's free as the name suggest, and it is very easy to set pages up!

i then went to www.dot.tk to get mine to look alot mor proffesional

www.bezphotography.tk is mine and the whole setup was free:)

Thanks for the input guys.. I think I'm gonna go with GoDaddy.com.

What would you guys suggest to use for online selling to use as a shopping cart?
