First off, I'm certainly no expert in critiquing other people's images. I know what I like and don't like, but sometimes can't convey that very well in text.

I think this image is pretty decent. I imagine the person who is in the picture will really enjoy it. The contrast looks okay to me. My only issue is it seems to be missing the 'wow' factor. You can't see what he is looking at, nor is there anything in the background or foreground to give any hints to what is going on. His tongue is getting a cameo as well.

I think it is a good candid, and the person in it, or anyone that was there an knew what was going on will enjoy it. For me, without seeing the eyes it is tough to get a feeling on what the mood is.

Then again, maybe that is the point. Maybe that is what made me look a little bit longer; trying to figure out if he was mad, upset, bored, angry, or just chillin'.

Just my $.02

Thanks,

The subject is my son, he was playing 3rd and was looking into the dugout for signs from the coach. He is one of those kids that just lives for baseball. I think in looking at it you might be right, if you knew him you would know how much it really captures who he is, but if you don't it probably wouldn't do much for you.

That makes a lot more sense now. Now that I know what is going on, I can see a little more of the intensity.

I'm actually shooting a softball game in a week for a buddy. His daughter is on the team and all they ever get is little snapshots from different parents. Seeing your photo gave me a neat idea if I can put it together.

Imagine seeing this image from the opposite side. The 3rd baseman, base runner, or whoever in the foreground and out of focus w/ the coach in the background, clear as day, giving the signs....hmmmmmm

This is why I love this forum!!!!
