Photo order from cf card

Weirdest thing. For some reason the photos seemed to download from the cf card in no particular order. There were a few instances where photos taken in sequence had a different photo put in between. When I download directly from the camera this has never happened. Not that it's important or even matters.
Has anyone ever seen this before?

I have had that happen before. I don't know why though! You would think that the shots would stay in order, but sometimes they don't. I would like to know the reason too.

check how the files are arrange in the folder. if they're arranged by "file size" the order will be all messed up as files have different file sizes.

I have the D-Rebel. I just use the Xp's camera and scanner wizard. I find it easier than opening a program first and is fairly fast.
One thing that might be a reason is that throughout the day I would delete photos from the camera that I wasn't happy with to save memory. When the photos download it is possible that the camera wizard would reapply an order number as photos in the order are missing.

The camera gives each image a number. It increases the number by one each time you shoot a picture.

As leony says.. Check your folder properties to make sure you aren't sorting by file size..

Click on view -> Arrange Icons by -> Name...

If you do this, then the photos HAVE to be lined up in the order you took them, starting from the smallest number lined up to the largest number.
