My attempt at a website...

Ok basically I've got some friends who wanted to learn the VERY BASICS in photography and I couldn't arrange to go out with them all and show them; I'm no pro but like they don't know what Av and Tv are etc...
so I made this quick tutorial on iweb- it's free and very easy-
So I was just wondering if you guys could have a quick look and say what you think of it...
I did it very quickly so keep and open mind :lol:
It's literally telling them roughly how to take a photo
Do you reckon it will help them- am emailing them the link tomoz probs
It's all my own work- maybe shouldn't boast about that lol

Kewl website is this part of your mac membership is it included where did you learn how to put this together is there a link or did you go to the store and take a class?

Nice Beginning to the site. IMHO it lacks personality though. Maybe change the color scheme b/c white on black isnt the most appealing especially when reading for a long time.
A program like dreamweaver or GoLive (adobe) can really help.
My site is by no means fantastic or even great but It has a 'me' feel to it.

Thanks; I simply used iWeb on my mac- I was using a free membership but it may have run out by now.

Thanks; I was using iWeb so not a great deal of choice but you know- I'm not that good on comps just now- have a mate who is pretty pro and might make my site proper in the summer.

White text on a black page soon becomes very tiring to the eyes - I'm afraid I don't hang around those sites too long. I could read the text on this forum all day long and never tire.
I found a few silly spelling mistakes - use a spell-checker if you have one.
Having written some text, leave it for an hour or so, then carefully read it through again. Most mistakes will now be obvious.

That apart. You seem to have achieved what you set out to do. The information is clear and should make sense to any beginner in photographer.

Please, for the love of God, don't put text in images. It can't be magnified, people can't view it in anything but that icky font, and there's no way whatsoever for the blind to read it, since a screen reader can't very well read text from an image. The last one's not so much an issue with a photography site, but causes all sorts of problems elsewhere...

-The font! I see this mistake too often. Fancy fonts are great for titles and what not but when you have a ton of text, a simple, easy to read font is best.

-The website address on the lens should be curved around the lens (U shape).

-Black and white is so overdone. Try charcoal or a very dark navy blue.
