"Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall"
These are just some test shots. Around 100% crop, handheld. Will test more with a tripod. But I think these are good enough to show that I now have a problem. Anything above 120mm is allfull. I tried it from 2.8 to f/10
I tried to load the image below 120mm, but it was to large. But I think this one speaks for itself.
ISO 100 f/3.5 @150mm 1/800

What kinda conditions are they though? Unless it's bright and sunny those numbers are pretty bad.

It's bright and sunny . All shot under 120mm are good. Anything above is like this.
I think it was the landing , not the fall, that did the damage.

Here's the other one. I had to resize it. So it may look a little soft.

Might be a front focus. I has the same problem with my copy of the lens. After sending it in for calibration and getting it back after two weeks, it was fine.

I never had a problem with it. Always been dead on. I think the fall jarred something. I plan to send it in anyway.

You haven't quite explained what happened with the fall...how far did the lens drop?

I had placed the lens on top of the car,too close to the windshield. I turned my head and shut the door. The lens went down the windshield , down the hood . There was a drop off in front of the car. So it left the car and landed face down on the concrete. Maybe 6-8 feet . Didn't help that I was parked on a slope.
I had the hood reversed and lens cap and a hood hat on it. The lens came out looking good. Not scratched, or anything. It just doesn't want to focus over 120mm.
I'm usually not that careless. It was just a hectic day.

Oh, sorry! I didn't get the rhyme (not a native speaker) and si didn't know it dropped.
So, it fell. Yeah, that's about the same the pics from my Canon 75-300 looked like after my friends tossed my backpack around and the lens soared through the air and crashed to the ground. It looked ok on the outside, but ever since the pictures it takes are soft. I don't use it anymore. :(

Just talk to Sigma. Will be sending it in tomorrow. Hope the turn around won't be long.

Thanks, I'll dig out my old Tamron 55-200 and play with it.
