I have gotten permission from the league to take pictures at the games. I created a flyer stating packages parents can buy. I passed quite a few out to parents, I got quite a few people interested. But one thing I noticing was parents really didnt want to buy the package, just single pictures, so should I create another flyer just saying prices of single pictures? or also include that in the old flyer?

Now the qestion is how do I show the parents the images of their child, so they can purchace? Get their e-mail and e-mail them a link to a gallery like I did at the last game,

OR

I just purchased a laptop yesterday, So I would be able to upload the images and just show the parents real quick, and let them choose wich one they want? Or burn a disc of the images they want and let them get it printed?

And any good programs I should be using or would make my life easyer?

But thanks for looking, hope to hear from some of you!

I'd use something like exposure manager...then just hand out business cards with your web address on them, you set the prices you want for each image size and they can order all the prints they want at what ever size they want and you just have to upload and collect...it's easy...

Offer them the baseball cards with a shot of their kid at bat and in the field. around here they love the cards.

I've seen 4X6 shots of kids going for $4.25 and selling like hot cakes. Some photogs have laptops set up and burn directly to a CD for lesser prices per photo. It all depends on your location, quality of shot and just what the people want. If this is something that has never been offered in your area before, parents will eat them up.

Not sue if I'd sell packages but would offer 4X6, 8X10 and even larger. I've also seen where photogs will make a large size print 11X17 of a couple of kids for advertising with a $20 - $25 price tag. The photog would shoot several games early in the season and then have a booth set up to sell around mid season. This way, he could also take orders from parents if they wanted something else or other shots.

Well, I think a lot of parents want to buy a single print because they know how to copy them on there own honestly (a certain relative told me she was planning on doing it - buying one and scanning, from another photographer - I just rolled my eyes and walked away - they dont get it). So, be open for suggestions but don't be TOO open. All of a sudden you'll hear "hey can you email me that --- what I have to pay, why? It's just an e-mail!!" I sell mostly packages in pre-order, and then online they can order individual prints (use exposure manager). I'm planning on changing up my products soon, so they get better deals but have to pay more. For example, instead of offering one 4x6 for $2.00 or something, they have to buy four 4x6's for $8.

ALSO, a great feature of Exposure Manager is you can sell pre-sale tickets. So you can go to a game, sell a pre-paid package, they get a number and go online to get there pics. They choose the pics they want online, hit order and bam it's already paid for (I think they have to pay shipping still though). So you got the money at the game, and only had to upload - they do the rest.

I also take a local private school's basketball and softball/baseball photos.
I have 3 packages ( different prices with different sizes ).
The parents seem to like itm, and once I get my workflow ( raw ) finally nailed down, then maybe it wont take so long to go through 100 kids photo packages.

I do believe it would be fun to take photos of kids during the games and try to sell them, but no guarantees.

I have a shutterfly pro account that I upload my little league soccer/baseball/football/volleyball pics to and give the link to the parents where they can order however many prints and sizes they want. The account lets me set my own price, which I've set at $2.00 for a 4x6, $5.00 for a 5x7, $10.00 for an 8x10, etc. If I do anything fancy during post processing, like make them into trading cards or posters then I charge more. The pics are set to where they cannot rightclick and download them, they can only order prints or photo gifts. So that might be something to think about.

If you can print them there, sell them right off the table immediately. Cards will sell better than prints.

Let the website back that process up by permitting more orders.

4x6 here max is about $5, the card you can get $7.

What you really need to understand is that if they can view the photos online, they'll almost never actually buy a print.

So, you're on track, you must sell at the venue, immediately, in print.

CDs will result in zero print sales; if you sell them, you must get paid enough to make it worth the time; they take time to burn, with one laptop you may be better off if they just order it from you for later delivery, then you fulfill. Price min $17; some say they add a per image charge atop that, price rising to $50-100, varying by number/quality of shots.

If you attend multiple events, same team(s), have at-the-ready your best work from prior events; they can sell.

Store all photos with strong with tags up-front so that you can put your finger on things for subsequent (straggling) orders.

Good luck, congrats on securing a contract!
