Well it's not quite a self portrait as I didn't hit the shutter button, but I did do all the in-camera settings and such, then handed it over to my brother's girlfriend and had her autofocus and snap the photo. I ended up carefully PS-ing out the background as it was my messy backyard and it cluttered the image way too much. That's me with my EOS Elan 7Ne, 70-200mm f/2.8L, and 420EX flash. The image was taken with my XT and 50mm f/1.8.

Self portrait using desklamp with paper diffusing light. Some window light present. Camera Canon 350D and lens canon 10 -22mm EFS @14mm. My first post here but I suppose self pics don't really count. For sure, you have the same nose, jaw structure and in your pic you look like him from a specific movie but i am not sure which specifcally, cant recall it right now

Okay so besides the fact almost all of you have digital SLR's and I don't..... and you all are so nice looking and I'm feeling like crap today, how do you get such good shots? I have an S80. What do I need to do to get a 1/2 decent picture of myself. My gawd, you should see the huge bags under my eyes. On second thought, I take that back.... And every flaw in my skin is picked up and I look like a bag lady. I do bag things for a living sometimes (I work retail) but I'm really not a bag lady. LOL Help? Suggestions?

Use proper lighting, open up the S80 to the widest aperture (on the S80, that's at 28mm, which means NO ZOOM!) to get the best chance of some fuzzy background, don't use flash at all, post-process the image to remove blemishes, bags, etc...

<edit> Oh, and use a tripod and try not to move!

That still isn't enough to fix my picture! I pretty-much just try to take pics of other people (most are better looking than myself!)... :-(

I see it just fine. Perhap your browser security settings? Are you behind a corporate firewall? If you are getting a red X try right click> properties> cut & paste into your address bar.

I get the same thing with these images Skip, even if I use the lowest browser security setting, firewall turned off and antivirus turned off. I can right click and select "show image" a thousand times and the image will never appear, and cutting and pasting the address into the browser bar doesn't help.

For some reason it only happens with certain images on this forum.

If it were just the small box with a red X in it, right clicking and doing the "Show Picture" thing fixes it. Never works when the error looks like the following:

This was on my Vacation.....Northern Ontario...my husband took my snowmobiling for my 2nd time ever! It was beautiful! Hard to get good shots with all that bright white snow.

Taken last summer when I was taking sunset pictures :) Since I used my D60 for the sunset the image is taken with my Sony Ericsson K750i ;) nice quality for a phonecam :)
