Which brings me to.....

Self portraits (when I was in art school), were pictures taken of you by you. I've noticed that some of the shots on this thread are photos taken by other people. Is the point of this thread to simply show us a photo of you or show us a photo of you by you?

Yes, I've always wanted a red velvet sofa, so I found someone to make me one. Those pictures are from my first day out shooting with my 350D and rank up with my favorites of all time (of those I've taken). Fun indeed!

OK, so the crop, and the levels aren't exactly perfect, but I got bored one night while the wife was doing some work on the pc, and had a bit of a mess around. Would have been better if I had an external flash, pop-up on the 300D isn't that impressive.

Still I always find my own company to be the best sometimes

Draganize! It's a technique used by Andrezj Dragan check out his site:

Great portraits here.

Can I just ask everybody for a favor please.

When You quote another member then please edit the IMG tags to URL tags so the photo(s) appears as links instead of imbedding the photos again. With so many great portraits it would be a shame if some were scrolled past because of quoted photos take up room.

I have cleaned up this thread.

But I didn't use that particular PS action set, although I have it... I'll upload the action set I use which allows for more control over the effect... using the effect req's a certain "type" of photo to start w/ and a lot of trial and error during PP.
