I've got one in my avatar, but that's kind of small. I've got loads of photos of me online. Why? I really don't know. I guess most of it was just playing with the camera when I was bored. Funny this should come up. I just shared this image with a friend yesterday.

Boy, what a bunch of cowards. :( So far there have been only three people with nerve enough to let the world see what you look like (okay, maybe 3 1/2 if you count thomascanty's avatar).
Then on top of it, you make fun of Laziferous's trousers. Well, okay. I guess I started that, but the fact remains that there have to be some more people who are as embarrassingly ugly as the three brave souls who've already posted.
And granted, roanjohn isn't actually ugly, but he could have been, and Laziferous isn't really ugly either; he just has a unique sense of style. I, on the other hand, am legitimately ugly---bordering on hideous---and feel I deserve appropriate recognition of that fact---but only by people with huevos enough to put their own face out there.

Well, it is time to admit that, although I would be happy to have a photo taken of me and then post it, I do not have a hosting site. Geez, over 700 posts to this forum and none of them have included pictures! I am going to put some effort into that, however, and then you will truly know why I take the pictures - that enables me to stay on the other end of the lens!

Depending on your browser you can set animations to loop forever or only once. For example in Mozillla: Edit... Preferences... Privacy & Security... Images... - there's an option for animation looping.
Given the frightening aspects of the above animation, once is more than enough. :)

hehe it's the people from the British Isles that always drive on the wrong side of the road, man it's dangerous to drive there, that's why, when I take the ferry to cross the channel, I never go further north than Canterbury. Till there, the Brits have the habit of the Continentals driving on the right side of the street and don't honk immediately when you make an error...
It's not only that they drive on the wrong side, their street signs are also mirrored, like for example 'priority to the left', the roundabouts are to be taken clockwise and not counterclockwise as usual, etc...

Joke came into my head (no offense towards anyone):
A british guy driving in the U.S.:
Gets in his car, drives on the streets at rush hour, and eventually gets on the expressway.
As soon has he drives up the ramp, he tunes in his radio to "Traffic info"
Voice on the radio:
"Interstate 80, exit 143A, there is a car driving in the wrong direction, into oncoming traffic."
British driver yells to himself: "ONE?.... Bloody hell, there are millions of them  "

Martin:
We all occasionally get caught up in the spirit of the moment and temporarily lose perspective. I've been there a time or two myself. In the last year I've managed to rankle a few people here myself, usually with misguided humor or references so obscure that people assume I'm being vulgar, snobbish, or psychologically impaired. Whenever that happens, I do exactly what you did; I apologize, vow not to do it again, and chalk up the whole experience as 'education'. Yours was the right approach.
One thing I do constantly is to remind myself that the forum is not made up exclusively of 30-year old drooling male participants. We have women, children, teenagers, and god forbid, old fossils like myself of both genders who frequent the forum. The best plan is to write with the knowledge that what your post can, and likely will, be seen by a very wide cross-section of humanity. You'll stay out of trouble that way.
As we all saw, it doesn't take long at all for a thread to go completely into the gutter, and when that happens, it's very likely to offend someone.
Thanks for the restraint.
