I decided to finally get a card reader and ordered this (http://ultraproducts.com/product_details.php?cPath=20&pPath=470&productID=470)one to fit into my last open 5.25" bay. I like the idea of not adding to the pile of wires and gadgets that always seem to be orbiting my computer.
Seemed perfect but it didn't work. Tech support isn't sure if it's defective or because I am using Vista since they don't officially support it.
So I don't want to order another internal reader only to have it not work so I'm trying to find out what the Vista users out there are using that works since I couldn't find any reader internal or external that listed Vista compatibility.

Don't know the similarities, but my carbus cf reader for my laptop was plug and play with Vista. I may have been lucky though. LoL.

If you have a machine with XP close by, try it on that. You should know pretty quickly if its fried.

We have internal card readers in all of our desktops. They are sure a lot neater than externals. We have not moved to Vista yet and probably will not do so for some time to come. The main reason for staying with XP pro is the driver problems that you have run into.
You might look into this reader as the web site says that it supports Vista. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820131009
