Is there a way to record only Raw data without any jpeg ?
I have intalled the russian firmware but the better I found is Raw+small jpeg...

No, you can't. CRW format always have a embedded JPEG. You can select Small/Normal to the smallest size possible.

I know it would help save space if you could, but I'm not sure you would want to. You would lose the ability to see thumbnails of your images without the embedded jpeg.

Hrm this isnt even a possibility on a 4 to 8 grand canon camera? I guess if you spend higher ammount of money on the body they may assume you'll spend close to the same on storage medium.

That is kind of interesting, because that is not the way it is on other Canon cameras. Take the D60, for example. You shoot RAW only and you see thumbnails.

the thumbnails are in the .thm files not from the embeded raw+jpeg.

You are correct. The 10D records a CRW and THM file. BreezeBrowser however uses the small thumbnnail recorded in the EXIF data of the JPEG to create thumbnails, when they are available.
