Just bought an i960 printer to use with my G3. I've been very impressed with the images using Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy. But, I read in an older “i960” thread that the finished images should be treated with a "spray coating". Is it necessary and what product was he referring to? Thanks!

:?: I have never heard of spraying photos with anything. These are ink renditions, and I would imagine that the ink would bleed together if you spray anything on them. I have sprayed pencil and charcoal drawings with a fixitif to stop smudging, but that's something completely different.

I'll see if I can dig up the thread and post.

I've not tried it.. but many people ARE spraying there finished prints (after drying) with spray on clear laquer.. (like krylon belive it or not)
Supoosedly it offers the equivelent sealed longevety that mounting under glass provides.
I have yet to try it.. (or even see the results elsewhere)
...but if it works... it may be a great inexpensive solution.

Hmm, This is interesting. I've heard tidbits about spraying inkjet prints for archival purpose before, but nothing in depth.
