I'm off to Budapest on Sunday - First time in Eastern Europe. Me, my parner my 10D and possibly 2 of my L lenses.... 24-70 and 70-200. 100-400 stays at home.

Anyone been there and have any tips and nice things to see (shoot)?

I will also go there this summer -- also my first time. I've just bought a book but I read only a few. The writer suggested not to ride a taxi without the company name on top of it. Otherwise, we will pay a lot.

I've found:

Please tell me your experience when you're back.

I haven't decided what lenses (and camera) to bring.

I was in Budapest for a short time last fall. Its a beautiful city, with many ornate buildings, which we don't see here in the US. You can walk around almost anyplace and get some great shots, however, my favorite area was the Castle Hill District. It offers some great panoramas and some local street color a bit reminiscent of New Orleans without the balconies.

Following is a link to some of my shots, which are mostly labeled with location .

Have fun!
