Hello,

The ThinkTank pixel pocket rocket (memory card wallet) was brought to my attention and it was something that got me excited. Yeah I know it is kinda simple, but it was one of those products that just seemed perfect for me. I also was very happy with the low profile/clean look.

So I decided to order it online for $19.95 (plus $10.00 shipping). I have ordered a few items this week and for some reason was very excited about this one. It then arrives today I open it up and the thing has a huge embroidered store logo on the front and also a website url in another spot from the company I purchased it from. When I purchased it they made no mention that they were noticeably advertising their store info on it. As far as I am concerned it makes it look cheap and junky.

Yes it sounds minor but I am the type to remove logos from my bags and even clothing and as mentioned before I appreciated the low profile look of this product and not something that screams potential "valuables" inside. You could argue who will see it but then why cover it in advertising?

I have contacted the store and am still awaiting a response. Have I totally lost it?

I would have expected them to mention this somewhere too. I've got two models ofthe Pixel Pocket Rocket from Penn Camera and neither one came with anyone's logos aside from a small ThinkTank tag. The only thing they advertise now is me, via the business card window.

Hm...$20 for a card wallet seems excessive anyhow. But no, you didn't lose it.

Yeah it isn't cheap but it is $19.95 CDN...

If you have a lot of cards, it's very practical. The regular one holds 10 CF cards; the small one holds 4 CF and 3 SD.

Send it back with a complaint about the logo and then buy it directly from Think Tank. It's $13.50 US on their site...

That's terrible. I'd advise sending it back, but the shipping cost will probably not make it worth your while. Can you perhaps cut the stitching and remove it without damaging the wallet? Also, which store did this, so that we can all avoid it?

Hello,

Well I considered trying to remove the stitching but it would be very time consuming and would leave marks. The camera store is located in Canada. I don't want to shed bad light on them even though they didn't inform me and is probably an innocent/honest oversight.

But I didn't say I won't include a picture of it to show what I am talking about ;)

It''s not worth the trouble of returning it, you may as well just use it. But I do sympathise with your attitude to this. If people want you to advertise for them they should pay you for it! or at least be honest about what you're buying in the first place.

I am headed to the store tomorrow morning to pick up some ThinkTank stuff that they are holding for me, I will check the wallets out to see if they are all like this. I have bought tons of stuff from them and have never seen advertising on it. I too don't really like the idea.

Now if they wanted to give me one to advertise their store ;)

Interesting... you should tell them where you heard about this problem. I will be interested to hear how you make out.

return the card holder and purchase one of the cases where the card holder is included. ;)

Yeah, I remove my markings sometimes but it's not stitch in like that. That would suck getting that out. Send it back, buy the real thing. That's probably the store's version or something.

I went to The Camera Store tonight, all the wallets on the ThinkTank display were not embroidered with the store logo. I mentioned to the gut I was dealing with and he showed me that they had the same ones with their logo on it. It really did not look that bad, but they should had made you aware that is what you were getting.

Thanks for filling me in. I can't believe there was an option too!...go figure? I am just really picky with logos and the principal of the situation bothers me. I have never used this store before and if it was a local shop I felt connected to I wouldn't care that much. As far as I am concerned my card wallet could have a Blockbuster Video logo on it and it would feel the same way.

Oh well if this is the extent of my worries in life I must have it pretty good. Time for me to let it go...

Thanks,

Mine is lowepro - got it at micro center for 3.99 - limit 4 - went in twice - they only had 7 left - so I moved 3 and went back . Great gifts and cheap .
I have 2 on the camera strap , One was for AA batteries and the other for cards , I just got a new XTI and the batteries fit so I have to buy @ least 2 more .
They have 30 , 40 , and 50 % off sales on books every once in a while so when I get an ad I try to go - worth the 40 mile drive . I'll check there web site and see if they have pictures of it and cost when not on sale .
