one our Kiwi photographers recently posted the question "Hey, do any of you ever take crap photos?"
well I certainly do & I'm sure there are a lot of others out there so here's a thread dedicated to the same.

This photo comes to you from the letter "F" and the letter "B"
173526
"F" = Forgetting to switch the flash on
"B" = Forgetting to ascertain the Background
(can you see a trend here?)
;)

LOL i was thinking of other meanings of the letter F and B

i really must stop spending so much time around tim's posts ;-)

ive got one like that of my son holding up a baby shark: it was brought to me by the letters B and F-C - (even more dodgy combination) Broken Film Camera letting in light and way underexposing (used built in light meter which was way off and the big streak of white across the print finished the job)

I'm sorry.. I really don't belong here as I never have and never will take cr@p pictures. The cr@p ones are classified as Art.;)
Your one would be titled "Faceless youth"

**Mr Burns voice**
Excellant, Excellant.
finally a competition that I'm really good at:
here's another real gem, brought to you by the letter "F" and the letter "H"
173541
"F" = Framing, or rather, the lack thereof - a tad too far to the left makes for a rubbish picture.
"H" = Head, isn't it obvious? (it might be Hat, but I may be mistaken)

Oh its such a hard decision, select 1 or 2 out of 17000 roughies, man this is tough but as you started with flash, hears some more, "must remember to turn flash on"

The before & when I remembered:o

So, how did you take that? on the way down from a tree, or did you tie your feet to a branch and hang. It's a masterful work of art, BTW... says a lot about how our world is turned upside-down..

I broke my left arm at the wrist a few weeks ago so have an nice fibreglass cast on it. Basicly I can't hold a camera very well with only one hand but you can't say I didn't give it a go. I was trying to get close to waterline without dropping it in the tide and the only way I could hold it was upside down - suffice to say the horizon is not too straight and the direction of shot wasn't what I'd have liked either...

And the lesson learnt here would be:

- When you shoot pictures of the moon at 300mm (x1.6) with 4.5 seconds shutter time, do not try it handheld.

I've used is as a background for my website...

Here's my crappy photo !!!

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1122/1361005411_b3f53bfa0e.jpg

This was taken a couple of weeks ago with a EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 II USM with the lens set at 300mm, the camera mounted onto a tripod and NO WIND.

Looks like some CA going on. I've used this lens for years when shooting transparencies and, of course, you cannot see the crappy quality when viewing a transparency with a 4x Schneider loupe. HOWEVER, you can really see the crappy quality when viewing a digital image at 100%.

So, needless to say, the 75-300 has been retired.

Erm, photography noob here really...what exactly is wrong with that photo? Focus seems pretty good. Framing is alright to me, (though I'm sure some would say it might look better off-centre). Tiny "blob" infront of a leaf down the bottom right. But otherwise I think it looks fine. (I've just got myself a 75-300, non USM lens, and if you're saying it's crap because it takes photos like that then I think I'll keep mine! ;) )

You see, this camera has an extra button on the back with the "star" it means ZPE... when you press it, whatever your pointing your camera at will be locked in space time, a new kind of image stabalization technology, the only draw back is if you have too much camera shake, things go a little awery..
