This guy lost control this afternoon in a quiet suburban street 1 street away from where I live. He had left the road, crashed through a garden narrowly missing a fence and the side of a house, then bouncing back onto the road before skidding to a halt in the centre of the road.
If only he had spent as much on learning to handle this Subaru as he has on doing it up.

Damn, that is a very nice WRX. Love that model too.
It's true though, too many people drive their modified cars as if they were on a track...I bet you this guy isnt too happy! Looks like a fair amount of damage...considering the suspension is hanging out!

And we've had quite a bit of rain here lately. Those semi-slicks would not have been up to the task.

Those semi-slicks would not have been up to the task. It's all relative. Up here, guys drive pickups 60mph on snow covered gravel roads without problems. And once I saw a guy from California get stuck in 1/8" of snow. :D

I need his motor. Mine lost a rod bearing.
But alas...I take it he is in Australia as well?
Thats a shame about his accident...

Wonder if the police confiscated the wreck under the hoon laws?

Shame, but makes you wonder what speed he was doing in a residential area ???????
Oh and just for the record... I have a WRX ;)

Dunno what speed he was doing, but the speed limit for that street is 50 km/h (approx 31 mph). He would have been doing significantly more than that judging by the length of the skid marks and the trail of destruction.

That shows that driving with the hood up is a bad bad idea :)

The pathetic part is on a stock top mount, he probably wasn't even making all that much power. But then again a Firebird locally lost it in a parking lot taking out a car port near me too. People can be idiots, some cars just let it come out better than others.

Coming from the UK, Melbourne drivers are well too scary! Ive seen three serious rear enders happen in the 8 months Ive been here - only ever seen 2 accidents happen in the UK in 30+ years!!
and as you say the rain didnt help - dont think anyone really appreciates that wet roads (especially after 8 months of dryness!) equal greasy and slippy!
