fairly cetain your ID is incorrect. If you join www.diptera.info you can post it and get an ID. Great site to join anyway. I have that fly in my gallery somewhere so I may be able to tell you later. Maybe one of the muscidae sp.

Really like the eyes in the crop - incredibly sharp.

Good capture Mark- agree with RM don't think it's a flesh fly - wrong colouring.

Hiya Alby, RM, David, Brian,
Many thanks for your kind words & comments,
RM, Brian,
Thanks for that info, have registered with Diptra Info but can't get in as my Account's not been activated yet  so I just had a quick look here http://ltreadwell.ifas.ufl.edu/insects/1119.JPG & your dead right it sure's not a Flesh Fly as I'd thought sure looks like the House Fly, it so obvious when one see's them side by side :o  I just thought it was a youngun.
Cheers for now

Good shots Mark, especially the crop, very sharp as others have noted.

Hiya Dave,
Many thanks for your kind words & comments, it does say on their home page that, Quote :-
This is an interactive site for dipterists from all continents dealing with all aspects of dipterology (the study of Diptera: flies and midges) and dipterists. end quote.
Extremely useful site for getting ID's, v.friendly.
Cheers for now
Mark
