Hi all,
I have a simple Q, how do you use the fill flash in the 300D.
Thanks

I mean how do you make the flash fire when there is a lot of light.

You _did_ read the manual, didn't you?
You can get the built-in flash to pop up by pressing the button on the left side that pops it up. Then the flash will sync with the shutter, assuming that you are in some normal mode of operation. In bright conditions, the flash will add a tiny amount of light to the subject.

Don't use the programmed modes (auto, landscape, sports etc). You aren't allowed to override any camera settings.. The camera is in complete and total control.
Use one of the creative modes... P, Av, Tv. Manual.. Activate the flash by pressing the flash button. The flash will pop up... Take the picture.

Use <P> only. This is a recommendation in the 300D user's manual.
The more expensive (and MUCH more efficient) way - buy an EX550 flash

FEC +2 stops
Your warrenty is now VOID, but, you have a fill flash.

And just for clarification, if you are going to be using the internal (built-in) flash, the shutter won't go after than 1/200. If you need a shutter speed fater that that, you'll need to use an external flash (which has highspeed sync capability) set to highspeed sync.

Fill Flash is meant to fill in shadows created by uneven lighting on a sunny day or add some light to shade. As such, you want it to be less then the ambient lighting levels. You are not using it to light the subject, just add some fill. FEC for fill flash should be -1 to -1and 2/3, not " +" (unless this is something idiosyncratic to the Russian firmware).
There was a nice article on this in Popular Photography in the last year.

Actually, it's whoopie... ;)
A $1,000 camera warranty versus a $300 flash unit? Buy the flash now, and use the russian hack after your warranty expires.
