Roger "The Rocket" Clemens came out of retirement again and had his first outing of the season with the FSL High A Yankees at Tampa Friday night. It was a media zoo as expected but I managed to get a few keepers.
#1 - Roger confers with his catcher in the bullpen prior to the game.

#2 - He was accompanied by a little leaguer when they took the field during player introductions. Little leaguers often do this at minor league games -- it's called "Field of Dreams" and one this little guy and his folks will never forget.

Great shots. I saw a similar pic of #2 the other day but I can't remember where. Was this one published?

Not that I know of, but AP and Reuters togs were shooting next to me and we all got the same shot. You probably saw one of theirs.

Hey Jerry,
Nice shots.... ESPN was live from Tampa Friday night. we
were looking for you but didn't see you... That was the cutest
when the little kids ran out with the players... did any of the little
kids hit home runs off him too?? ;)

Great shots, Jerry. As I don't know how to extract exif data, would you mind posting your settings and describing the weather, as to sunny or cloudy day? What lens you were using, whether these are crops, etc?
thank you in advance.

I was hoping he would make his debut in the Midwest League so I could shoot it. Pics look good Jerry.

Mark - Like dekalbSTEEL said Opanda is free -- it's also a snap to use and an excellent learning tool. So I'm not going to post exif data in hopes that you'll give Opanda a try. Besides that exif is different in all but the last two shots and by studying it you'll see how I change ISO, shutter speed and aperture as light conditions deteriorate -- all the images are in the order I shot them. You'll also note that I need to change my camera clock to daylight savings time because the game started at 7:00 PM .
As for your other questions: The weather was clear -- high clouds but not what I'd call overcast and very late afternoon sun. The lens was a 300 f/2.8 without an extender. All were cropped and some more than others -- very little in #1 and #3, a lot in #2 (I should have used an extender), mostly centering and leveling in the last two.

Jerry - Thanks for sharing. #4 is probably my favorite shot.
In #2, is the Little Leaguer wearing a Mets hat?

Great shots as usual Jerry, that kid has the right hat on - from the GOOD side of New Yawk! I can't say the same for Rog, I'll let him slide this time since he has a pretty cool son in Koby. Hopefully be able to get Rog somewhere this year, he's one that I've never been able to track down except when he's at Kobys games.
