I'm still (most definitely) finding my feet with my camera, other than photographing objects for my retail website (something I've done hundreds of times).

Anyway, thought I'd make a renewed effort to immerse myself in photography, so without further ado, here's a photo taken during a recent trip to Paris with my wife.

The photo shows fellow tourists in front of the Winged Victory of Samothrace. Since the photo is essentially about people watching I thought this section of the forum would be the best place to post it.

C&C gratefully received.

Thanks for looking.

Best,
Toby.

This would have been good if all the stationary objects were sharp, to complement the fluidity of the people. Get a tripod and go for an even longer exposure!

agreed. definitely need a tripod in the Louvre or almost any indoor museum.

i think i would crop it differently too. portrait type with less of the left and right of the stairs.

one tough thing about that pic is it's hard to get a real sense for how big the sculpture is. i recall it being enormous.

Thanks for the comments. Agreed, I definitely need to get a decent tripod.

The shot was taken (accidentally) at a very high ISO, which also helps explain the lack of sharpness.

Anyway, all good experience.

Best,
Toby.
