Looks like some more lens-money could be flowing my way. In march, I bought myself a new cellphone, locked to my providing-company of choice, quite cheap. It was/is SonyEricssons newest flagship, T630. Suddenly the phone died, and I sent it for repair. Got it in return today. They couldn't repair it, so they sent me a brand new one.. But they forgot to lock it to my provider, so overnight my cellphone value have been raised from $190 to $420 =D So I'm selling it brand new with receipts for $360, as I got quite a decent "backup-phone" anyway. That's some nice money to be put into my lens-budget =D

That's if you can sell it... Most providers give you the phones for next to nothing. ;)

*Caching!* Sold for $360 about an hour after I put it on the Net =) Yeah, the clue about this phone is that it isn't locked to a provider, and that's why it's worth twice the value I gave for it originally (as it then was locked to a specific provider)

$360 fresh dollars just looking for it's bite of a lens =) Hope someone buy my 50mm soon to =) Think I priced it a bit high, but hey, people tend to be crazy on auctioning sites when things are sold in mint conditions with accessories =) If I can close that deal too, I'm half way to a brand new 24-70, and that will hopefully be completed either by my next salary, or by the additional sale of a Palm Tungsten T.. Crap, I'm selling all cool things I got here :P This photo-hobby really is a money-drain :( I'll probably end up walking into my room one day to find the computer missing, not remembering I sold it on ebay the night before to afford a 16-35 =D And then I'll have to sell all kind of photo-stuff again to afford a new computer =P This is a vicious circle!

Hmmm..... to give you some more ideas:

- sell your TV
- sell your car (you won't have to pay for fuel and taxes either)
- sell your cat (you won't have to buy food for it either)
- find a rich girlfriend
- win the lottery
- ...

I can relate... I'm financing my photography hobby by selling off my collection of Magic:The Gathering Online cards... When those are gone, I've got a collection of vintage cameras, around 20,000 sports cards, a few old Avon decanters...

You're right... One vicious circle.

Oooooooooh, nice! What I haven't thought about.. As a kid I spent many years (and way to much money) to build up a collection of NBA-cards, and at least some of the cards where rated at $50+ back then. I mostly collected Michael Jordan, and since these cards are quite some years now, and no longer sold, they've definetely not fallen in value.. Guess I'll have to go and see what the collection is worth now :D

But seriously, selling of those cards at the age of only 5-7 years is quite stupid I think, since they can probably pay off several Canon "1's" if I rather sell them at the age of 50-60 =)
