View Full Version : Weird IXUS 400 Orientation Problem?

Hi,

My IXUS 400 is currently exhibiting a very weird problem whereby if I hold it in a one portrait position and take a shot it will result in a vastly over-exposed shot. If I hold it in the other portrait position then it will take a correctly exposed shot. This problem always occurs in the same portrait position (ie the camera rotated 90-degree cw and the shoot button on the bottom). I have not dropped the camera ever and always been extremely careful with it.

I would be very grateful for any suggestion/help.

Thanks

Hi Jon,

It does not occur indoors under camera flash. Here are some examples taken in daylight outside:

Camera at 90deg cw

Camera at 90deg ccw

Thanks for your time.

The EXIF data indicates the same shutter speed and aperture for both; that makes it look like the camera's malfunctioning, not like there's something you can do differently to correct it.
