Accidentally dropped my G1 =(

I accidentally dropped my Camera, and was wondering what "effects" should I look for, or is this thing pretty sturdy...

It depens on which part of the Camera hit the ground. I dropped mine before(around 80CM), and the body hit the ground. My G1 is still alive and works just fine.

If the camera was not on and the LCD or the lens did not got any damage, odds are the camera survived just fine. Just check it makes flawless pictures with all focal lengths and apertures.


Cameras can survive from quite harsh experiences. I once slipped and hit the ground with my SLR in hand, in a way where the cameras lens was the first thing to meet step made of concrete and I fell on it.

Lens cap (plastic) and UV filter (metal and glass) were shattered into pieces, I got few bruises, but the lens and body survived. Outer filter thread of the lens lost a small part of the threads, though. This is exactly the reason why I would prefer Lensmates made out of something that would be broken far before the mount on the camera. With $20 Lensmate I definitely WANT it to break first, NOT survive so that the $700 camera gets the damage.
