This is only the second year for our little fair, but attendence was almost doubled over last year! I donated some of my time to shoot some pics for the organizers to use in marketing the fair next year.

What do you think?

#1 - Bodice too high.
#2 - Wrong perspective. Can't see front of bodice.
#3 - Hair obscuring view of bodice.
#4 - Ditto #1.
I dunno man. Almost seems like you weren't trying very hard. ;)

Oh - The pictures - Great stuff! Looks like a nice park where you were able to get clean backgrounds. Maybe increase the color temp in #4, she looks a little blue.

nice shots. but seems like you just got the items in front of the subjects in focus like the violin or the bodice. I think it would be nicer if you were able to get their eyes more in focus. would draw more attention to the person that way.

I noticed that too....I am not sure if my lens is front-focusing or I am not hitting the right spot when I am using autofocus!

Overall nice shots.
THe first ones seems to be lacking something, her face seems a little - I dunno - soft or like it needs contrast. Otherwise I like it a lot.
The second is nice but I think I would have like it better had she not noticed you, like she was wrapped up in her playing, like the girl in the 3rd picture.
The third I like, she's wrapped up in her things and you just happened to come across her watching. The only thing I can see was that I would have shifted the camera down so you didn't cut the tip of her thumb off at the bottom and left a little space under her hand. Otherwise I like it alot.
And the fourth is very nice too, a good capture - you want to show people having fun, and these two certainly are. Here I would have zoomed out a tad to leave a little space next to the woman on the right hand side of the frame. Otherwise its an excellent shot.
Didn't know they had Ren. fairs in Wisconsin as well? I attended one in MN outside of Minneapolis like a decade ago, I loved it. A lot of fun, didn't get nearly as good pictures as you did.

This was just a tiny little thing compared to the Bristol Ren Fair which is just south of Milwaukee and a little north of Chicago. Last year we did a POTN meet-up there and had a blast. It is one of the largest ren faires in the country and maybe we can get another POTN meet-up organized again this year?
