I currently have Photoshop 6.0 and would like to upgrade to CS. Does anyone now if I can simply buy the upgrade to CS and skip completely over 7.0?

I have spent some time on the Adobe webpage but was not able to find that answer.

Thanks for your help.

That's the upgrade path I took. No issues. Well worth the $160 for the upgrade. :D

Gimp.org <-- It's free as in _REAL_ free, with sourcecode and everything. And yeah, as an added bonus, it doesn't cost money either :) I seriously doubt that more than 1% of photoshop-users couldn't get along with gimp too. Doesn't have inbuilt raw-conversion, but it's available as free plugins all over the net. Works like a charm. I used photoshop for 4-5 years, but finally got around to fiddle with Gimp when it hit v2. A couple of days was all it took for me to do what I did in photoshop. Now after some months, I think I'm doing more stuff in Gimp than I ever did with Photoshop. It's a nice free world right under your nose, take advantage of it, and spend the PS-CS money on L instead :)

Just my two cents..

GIMP - I agree, it's certainly worth the money! There were a few other things I thought it did better than P$, too.
1. The only reasons I'm not using it now is that I already have P$hop 7 & sometimes teach it. (I'm easily confused!)
2. GIMP is best if you get a stable version & don't constantly upgrade it as soon as the new version comes out. (Sorta like microsoft!)
