Are you using the Canon lens shade (ET 67) or is there an alternative? Seems the ET-67 is a lot more expensive than the normal shades. Suggestions, ideas?

Obviously you won't be using the lens hood when shooting macro, but you'll want it for normal shooting.

I have the first incarnation of this lens and I never use a shade because the lens element is set so deeply in the lens barrel. I have never gotten any flare or light hazing in over ten years of use.

I am actually looking for the ET 67 for macro aquarium photography. It's nice to place the hood against the glass for stability, etc. Does anyone know where to get it for less than $35? Thanks!
