Definitely the Yellow-billed Cuckoo. They are such striking birds, and it's rare (at least for me) to see them in a part of the trees so as to be photographed.

Looks to be 10" to 12" long and slender with a strange call. Quite large in comparison to even a American Robin.

Nicely posed and very well captured shots Gary. Looks like a Yellow-billed Cuckoo as well. Here's an ID link. http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Yellow-billed_Cuckoo.html

The white spots on the tail are the giveaway when you see the cuckoo from a distance. I don't think there are any other birds with quite that pattern.

You only see them from the bottom the top looks all brown

Thank you very much I normally don't frame many but it sort of gives it more of a finished look. Did you check out those tail feathers?

They have a Mangrove Cuckoo here in Florida that looks very similar, but they are rare and I've never seen one.

Often heard, rarely seen! Great pictures. In much of the south, this bird is called a "rain crow", as its call is thought to be more frequent just before it rains.

I very much hope you do, you are liable to hear them before you see them
