Got my bike last Thursday, the first in twenty years. I look at it and feel ten again. So does the misty world around it. Wheeee!

Oh, blurry view, from the tears of joy of a 10 year old getting the nicest gift he can imagine. A bike is a tool to get more freedom, more radius of action, more liberty, a ton of opportunities to discover new parts of the world... no surprise the view gets blurry. We see the very moment when the kid starts to drift mentally into the world of future discoveries... when the real view of the bike starts to get blurred and starts to warp into the imagined future happenings. The only grip I have is, that the bike is to technoid for my personal liking. That, however, might just be a sign of me getting older... ;)

It's odd no? That we do "see" a lot of what we are nostagic about through a blur that looks very much like this one. Our cameras' lenses are much sharper than our memories.

Yes, I find it interesting to contemplate a bit about how our brain produces certain moods and processes. Blurring is one of those effects that simulate and stimulate the transition between reality and dream, between now and then, between wish and coning true...

And the unsharpness of the memory is what makes it possible to associate... some details are lost, just to allow connection with other similar entities in our mind. Fascinating. Thanks, Ted, for again and again bringing such thoughts up with your pictures.
