Ok kinda new to this advanced lighting stuff but does anyone have one of these or something like it? http://www.amvona.com/?page=shop/flypage&view=1&product_id=1498

I am trying to set it up and want the best use of lighting the rails are 10 feet in length and the question I am asking is would you set it up with the square above the camera or the model or somewhere in between.

If some or any of you have this kind of setup and have some kind of diagram it would be most helpful.

I figure the light won't be of much use above the camera ;)
You want to be able to go around the model with light (in front as well as behind), so I'd set it up so the model is somewhere in the middle of the square...

I used a similair system in a studio where I've worked, and while it's nice to have the floor free of cables and tripods, I found myself often using a stand for hair light for example, since it's easier to adjust if it's high up. (No need for a ladder to go up and adjust the light) Depends on the height of the studio off course, so YMMV.

Rails are really nice, but you would need at least a ten ft. ceiling, and preferably 12 ft.

Garage height 9`foot plus rafters of another 3`feet

Are you happy with the rail system from Amvona?

Is it possible to use it for children with a8 ft ceilings?

Thanks,
Brenda
