7s Tour and Trackday

Spent a long weekend touring my R500 with about 38 other cars. This is something we do every year and this year it was my turn to organise. We started at Elvington on the Friday (18th may) and worked our way to Gusbrough where we stayed at the Hotel there. We then went to Ramside Hall at Durham via the Yorkshire TT, Haws, Middleton etc. Unfortuatley I managed to hit a rock which clashed under the car and broke off the oil filter housing so that was then end for me but managed to get the car home and get the tin top out. Sunday was spent traveling back to Middleton then Alston stopping at harside for lunch. Then through Melmerby, Brampton, Alston (Again) Allenhead and back to the hotel.

Looks like you had a good time and the Hartside cafe looks as full as usual and the photos of the Cargo on track are brilliant. Is that Ken Paton's D Type in your gallery ?

Indeed thats Kens car, he spent months preparing for the tour only to manage 60 miles at which point his clutch gave up. Should have changed to a road clutch but left the race one in which is just not up to the constant stop start riggors of the road. Even so, he spent the whole weekend with a smile on his face and navigated Paul around in his 400BHP Dax - 6th pic of the first set of pics.

Never got to Allenheads as my car was buggered so decided to hop about helping with the tour truck, fixing cars and grabbing the odd photo. I thought I had mentioned it a while ago Geoff, sorry. I would have been good to see you and have you take some pics of the guys on the road
