Ok, after I have submitted my profile to onemodelplace I have received quite a few emails from models looking for TFP. I am am amateur and just love to shoot. I don't own a studio and usually shoot outdoors. I am getting there but want to master my skills with available light before I jump into something more complicated.
I want to shoot a model in the city atmosphere (downtown Miami in my case). She wants to wear.. mmm... provocative clothes. I would appreciate if anyone who done this kind of job would share their experience. How did you deal with privacy (I mean people who were passing by). Maybe it's a stupid question but I just so nervous about the upcoming event.
I would appreciate any suggestions about how to choose a shooting location and how to do it right. I don't have an assistance, so it just me, my camera and a model.

You would need to define provocative.
as in swimsuit, nude, in fetish wear, other?

Except for nude (which will get her in more trouble then you) just use the clothing as counterpoint to what is going on around the model. ignore the passerby or incorporate their reactions in the pictures. Take lots and lots of pictures. If you are incorporating other people, try to get them to sign a quick photo release to cover yourself if you get that great shot, but don't worry too much about getting it since these pictures are mainly for both your portfolios instead of for commercial purposes.

If the clothing (or lack there in) is racy or out right nude. then make sure the model has a trench coat or similiar outfit that can be taken off and put on in a hurry. Being you are planning on Miami, if you are near the beach a large beach towel would also work. Set the shot up, check for unwitting voyeurs , have her lose the robe, take about 8-9 shots (ie fill the buffer) and then have her put the robe back on. Again check for voyeurs and their reactions. If they look offended, quickly move to another location, if they look interested then see if you can sucker them in to being lookout for your next set. They will actually see less that way. If using beach towel, be sure to check out what is showing on the model after she puts it back on, if doing full nude.

If no nudity is involved, but the clothing might cause controversy, then just take you time. it is their problem not yours in that case; exception - obvious fetish wear should follow the nude rules as a courtesy.

As to shooting location.
Street corners, near downtown buildings or hotels, on the beach, local park, just do a walk about and take pictures at any point that looks good. If you like it take some more.

Lastly, I am jealous of the fact that you are getting multiple TFP offers. I have to work for each one I get after 2 years, but I suspect from your avatar that you are female - always easier for you to get models to pose for you.

That's true, I have no problem picking up the girls! :lol: Maybe you're right and they feel more comfortable with a woman taking their pictures. I don't know. But certainly I have no problem giving my business card to the pretty girl on the beach without the risk of being beaten up by her boyfriend :)
