Sorry I dont have examples here with me, but its a fairly basic idea. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I have some shots I took of fireworks at night, no light other than the fireworks illuminating the smoke in the air. Is there any reletively easy way to fix this ? I was thinking removing it via color cast in photoshop, but I'm told that won't work well ( havent actually tried it yet though ). My other thought was selecting the night sky color and painting over the smoke, but that also doesn't seem like that great of a solution due to lighting changes as the sky gets closer to the fireworks.

Software I have available is:
Photoshop CS3, Lightroom, Photomatix, Noise Ninja

TYIA

If you use the healing brush with a large enough brush size it will blend the lighting change in the sky pretty well. I mean it really depends on how close the smoke is situated to the fireworks, the closer it is the harder it will be to clone out. I had a pretty easy time removing smoke from my fireworks pictures using the healing brush as it was mostly against a black background. The smoke that was actually in the bursts I left alone.
