Hello...

I am hoping someone here can help me. I have this darn program with my PowerShot A10. I have NEVER had a problem before. I was uploading pics and the program locked up. When I got out of the program and opened it back up, I got the following message:

An error has occured and the operation is cancelled. It appears that the database is not affected. If you think that the database has been corrupted, you can restore your database using the database dialog which is accessed via the Database menu command.
Error Code is: 0x80004005

This comes up in a box and you can click an OK button. My Image Library is open in the left column. But there are no Library images on the desktop anymore. What can I do to fix it??

Thanks in advance to all who reply!
Gina

Even though the error states that your database is not corrupted, it sounds like it is. Here's how to fix it (courtesy of www.powershot.com):

If it is still running, Exit ZoomBrowser EX.

Use Windows Explorer to delete the following three files: xxx.dat, xxx.idx, and xxx.zbd (where xxx is the name of the database, usually 'My Database'). Usually, these three files will be found in the C:\Program Files\Canon\ZoomBrowser EX\Database folder.

If you find any files in this folder with an ".fcs" extension, such as D0000000.fcs, delete these files also.

Start ZoomBrowser EX again. If you receive a message advising you that the database has been deleted, click [OK]. On occasion, you may have to allow ZoomBrowser EX to close itself. Restart the program again. Also, if an 'Open Database' dialog box appears, click [Cancel] to close it.

From the File menu, select Database, then New.

When a 'multiple databases' warning message appears, click [OK].

Navigate to the location where you want to save the database (C:\Program Files\Canon\ZoomBrowser EX\Database folder), then type in the desired name of the new database (call it My Database) and click [Save].

When you receive a message to identify an image library with your new database, click [Add image library now].

Navigate to the folder which contains your images. If you are using the default installed settings, this will be C:\Program Files\Canon\ZoomBrowserEX\Image Library One. With this folder highlighted, click [OK]. Be very careful that you do not select the wrong folder. That should do it.

I don't know if this will help with your immediate problem or not...but my recommendation would be (at some point) to update to the current version of ZoomBrowser EX...which is 4.6.0c. It's available at:
