Has anyone had any experience or thoughts on this lens?

The June 2007 issue of Shutterbug Magazine gave it a great review.

It'll only work on your 10D, for one thing. Not sure if you noticed that.

I have it. It is fast, thanks to the f 2.8 and very silent when it focusses. Unfortunately, it also had a bad case of front focussing (3cm, thats almost 2 inches I think)and I had to send it in for re-calibration. It is fine now, but still there is tiny bit of a front focus, but only if you look at the pictures at 100%.

From what I read in German forums, no one got a lens that did not have some issue of front/back focus. Some people had to send theirs in two or three times to get it back right.

So, even if the lens is great, be aware of this issue. I might sell mine to get something with a larger focal length, though of course it is - compared to the Canons - quite small and light weigth.

And I am a little confused, Ronald S. JR, because my lens works fine with my 350D body.

what Ronald mean is it won't work in the OPs 5D, it's a DC lens which is specifically designed to work with cameras with 1.6x 'crop' sensors.

2.54cm = 1inch.

Exactly. I was speaking only in terms of what bodies the OP had.

I am very much in the market for this lens. I think it compliments the 17-50 well.
1. Tam 17-50
2. Sig 50-150
3. Sig 120-300
Would be a nice line up.

Anyone know where the best price for this lens is? Adorama and B&H have it for about $680.

Yeah, the only thing I regret about the 10D is that it's not able to use EF-S lenses, but as far as I've read third party "digital only" lenses work fine with it.
