WOW! Incredible shots! I think I'm in love with your job ;)

Well, terrorists haven't frightened me from flying, but this actually might

Thanks.

I just got back from a trip about an hour ago. Wouldn't you know, the first time I leave my camera at home in months and I miss taking a bunch of photos. There were Thunderstorms all over the eastern US making for some great backgrounds, and both of my cameras are sitting back in my apartment.

Glad you liked my gallery.

Dave

vvizard,

Your photo isn't showing anymore. I think I might have missed a good joke.

Fanman,

A lot of those shots were taken with my Canon Powershot S30. It works well inside the airplane because I can keep it in the cupholder right next to my seat. If I know we will be flying somewhere with good photo oportunities, I turn on my camera about 50 miles from the destination airport and set the settings for whatever light I anticipate. As you can imagine, safety is always first so if the camera isn't set up, i simply don't take a picture. I have to have it set so all I need to do is pick up the camera, snap my shot, and put it back in the cup holder without really thinking about it. I take a camera on every trip and I only get a useable photo every few weeks. It takes really unique weather conditions to make a nice photo, and I also have to be the nonflying pilot for the leg to take any shots.

Some of the shots were taken with my 10D. The 10D is really too cumbersome to use inside the airplane. Plus, the windshield is slightly curved and has layers of coatings and heating elements so the added sharpness of my 10D is almost useless. Also, I can't use my 10D in any phase of flight other than cruise because it would take too much attention.

Awesome pictures!

I take a lot of pics when I'm the non-flyer in Cessnas. Lots of fun! I wish I could get my little planes to those altitudes to get some great pics.

I especially like the "Loser at the cruise control" picture - he flashes the shocker with his left hand. Priceless.

That "Loser at the Cruise Control" picture is my buddy Chris. We flew together for a month. The photo was taken between Pittsburgh and Kalamazoo Michigan somewhere in the vicinty of Toledo, OH. Those horrible sunglasses were mine. I purposely bought the stupidest looking sunglasses I could find. It was fun to see the looks I got from the passengers as they boarded. Chris gets credit for the shocker. I think he was trying to flash gang signs but got it all wrong. We went through a period about a year ago when everyone tryed to be all gangster rap. It was funny cuz we are all so patheticly white.

"West Side! Boy!" Matt does a better job in this Pic.
