Hi guys,
I've just done a clean install of EE.
First I've installed 1.5 RC4, then upgraded to 2.0.
For some reason tho, I can't login to the admin page :(
Each time I enter the default username/pass, I get to see the same page! :(
Anyone here who can help? Everything went fine during the installation, no errors or whatever.

i am sure you have tried this but the login for 2 is;
username: admin
pass: pass
i found this in my notes
RESET PASSWORD:
Unzip admin/SCRIPT_reset_username_and_pass.zip and open SCRIPT_reset_username_and_pass.php to your browser. That resets
username: admin
pass: pass

then make sure you delete SCRIPT_reset_username_and_pass.php so that no one else may knock you out if they figure out the name of your admin directory... make sure that you keep the zip file, though! ;)

I am having the same problem. First I've installed 1.5 RC4, then upgraded to 2.0, but I can not login with the default password. I even tried using SCRIPT_reset_username_and_pass.php to reset the password and I can not get it to work. I had no errors when installing. I am just really confused.
My website is http://www.aitef.org/gallery/. I have no idea what the problem may be.
Please help.

you should email me right away as i was able to loginto your site using the default settings.
you are trying to go in through the front page which is just for users
there is a special page for the admin login which i was able to access.

hopefully you also renamed your admin directory to something else unguessable? this is a major item that needs be done during the installation and before you're first logon... i know that it is (was?) spoken of in the installation steps...

Try your login at the following url, replacing your domain with your domain and your subfolder with your subfolder.
http://www.yourdomain.com/subfolder/admin/EDITOR_loginpage.php (http://www.aitef.org/gallery/admin/EDITOR_loginpage.php)
username: admin
password: pass
And do not forget to change the name of the admin folder!!!!!!! it is a security risk!!!
I had the same problem, I was just dumb- it was like ah hah when somebody told me that I was trying to login into the user interface, not the admin interface- so getting help at this forum was the way to go! Hope this helps.

Delete the EE cokkies in your browser--- After a new installation there is a mix up from EEold to EEnew which remains there confusing the browser... and the admin ;-)

The other thing that went wrong in my installation and the admin logon was the cookies name. I used dots and empty spaces like "EE Admin www.domain.ch" which do not work with all installations because they get converted. Pekka then suggested using underscores... EE_Admin_www_domain_ch and this worked.
