Don't want anyone thinking I'm hiding.
I'm leaving on a little business trip today and will not be able to log on for a few days. Hopefully there will be a few photo ops along the way.
Gaspe/North Shore, here I come.
Later all.

Have a safe and pleasant trip, Ian. I'll make sure the guys don't talk about you while you are gone and if they do, I'll let you know every word they said. :)

Just kidding, guys, so let's hear all the juicy stuff you have on Ian.

He was making something up, just read between the lines... *really likes duck butts*... Come to think of it, some of those ducks he's posted have the largest... I've ever seen. ;)

Seems like a good time to have a party at Ians place. :)
Maybe he left the stove on... Somebody should break in and check to make sure the stoves not on... Also, make sure all the liqour bottles are tightly sealed. Make sure the stereo works well at high volume. Make sure his smoke alarms work well too. Usual good neighbor stuff. :) :)

Geez, I go away for a couple of days and get more replies to my "gone away message" than most of my photo posts. Maybe this is telling me something.
Not really home yet but I can at least retrieve email and log on.
Did manage some shots but going to wait till I get home to the CRT to post.
Have some catching up to do.............

Ian, your garage sale has gone well. Most household items went (all you can carry $10.)

Sadly, the wall got scratched up really badly when taking out the furnace. :(

We bought more beer with the proceeds. . :)

Welcome back. Left a 6 pack for you in what used to be the kitchen.

Whoops! That was Ian's 6-pack?

Hey Ian, can I fax you some Budweiser, eh? ;)

Selling the furnace was for a good cause, but offering a man Budweiser is simply rude.

I appreciate the spring cleaning effort. The wife was after me to get the place cleaned up. I was trying to figure out a way to get that damn old furnace out of the basement. Now I believe I can order the new one (as well as a couple of new walls)
Ya'll didn't happen to find a 20 lb. box of cheddar cheese that went missing a few years ago did you?
Oh and ya might want to call the person who purchased the case of KD, it is way past it's expirey date.

Now how can this be rude:

I figure about 3 of these equals about 1 LaBatt's, flavor-wise. :D

I going to start a poll to see what people think about the posting of possibly offensive beers... This is worse than the image recently posted image showing the lens that had fallen - the severely cracked front element gave me the chills.

:)

"Why is American beer similar to making love in a canoe?"

"It's <ahem> very close to water."

Well..... I guess I can't argue with that! Though there are a few genuinely good ones here and there, primarily from microbreweries.

Glad to help. It's been hectic (three times the police were here for noise complaints, though the last two times I think it was just for the free stuff. )

I'm not sure how much "cleaning" happened. :? Usually spilt or dropped stuff was just trampled into the carpet, or kicked out of the way...

20 lb of cheddar... Yes, it's now blue cheese and it's now a lawn ornament. :)
KD... Sorry was a cash or barter only, but I think that went to the orphanage. Oh, you now have a 18 month old.

I couldn't resist this one. I agree that the American beers are nothing like the stuff we have over here. In England we get much better stuff. There is only one way to do it better and that is to go to wherever your choice beer is made and drink it there. For example, go to Dublin and chck out the Guinness Storehouse for Guinness. I have been there and it is the best I have ever tasted. The next closest is in Dublin and third is anywhere else in Ireland then England is next. Althought brewed here in UK it just tastes a little different. Another favourite of mine is Murphys, brewed in County Cork, Ireland. These are called stout over here. There is also Caffreys and Wexford, also Irish ales. Here in England, there is Newcastle Brown Ale and others. However, I can say that I don't like the local stuff, Greene King which is from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. I'm not a lager person, for the most part. I wonder how that Labatts/Molson is gonna taste? I'm thinking like diluted water. :) There is also one other I forgot, Hoegaarden, which is weissbeer. It is an interesting flavour and something different to the stouts/ales for a little bit of difference. I think I will be homebrewing before too long.

Actually I think that there are a lot of good American beers, but almost every one is a microbrew. Many, many years ago I worked in a liquor store (part time, I was useless after an 8-hour shift) and this was before microbrews even started. Sam Adams was *just* getting started, and Anchor Steam was my favorite American beer, though Sam Adams was pretty darn good, too.

Since there wasn't much to choose from locally, some of us employees would get together and special-order beers from around the world. Man, that wasn't cheap. I remember paying $48 for a case of Samuel Smith's Pale Ale, and I remember hating the fact that it was so damn good because I knew that I'd be buying it again.

The stuff we drank back then was particularly special and unique. Nowadays good beers are hard to find because there's just so many microbrews that you don't know what to buy. Granted, it's extremely easy to ignore the Special Winter Pumpkin Wheat Double-Bock and the Spring Meadow Blueberry Pale Ale. Harumph.

Man, barely 8:00 AM and I'm craving an Anchor Steam followed by a Samuel Smith's Pale Ale...
