Recall TV ad with bloated PC guy talking to shleppy Mac boy/dude about useless software installed. Most PCs are sold with this software preinstalled.

I had a modem you put your phone receiver into. I used to save programs i wrote onto cassette tape.

My first one was a whopping 2400 baud, and that was considered pretty fast in it's day!

My first computer (TI 99/4A) used a cassette tape recorder for storage, a 12" b&w TV for a monitor. A modem was a dream.

My first modem was 300 baud in an Apple ][e with 80 column card and 64K memory!

Adobe Acrobat Reader is a hog.

I got rid of it and use this - it's read every single pdf I have ever encountered:

http://www.foxitsoftware.com/

Not convinced? Go to Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs, and tell me how much space Adobe Reader uses on your HDD.

Foxit Reader takes 3.71 MB on my HDD. How do they compare?;)

Newbie! How well I remember 55 baud telex machines as computer interfaces.

Speaking of slow, does anyone but me remember printer interfaces for an IBM Selectric typewriter? The ones with tons of solenoids that actually pressed the typewriter keys?
