:?:
was at the zoo and a fellow canon 10d owner had a strap that went from his wrist to his camera. after a brief discussion and his kids pulling at his pants leg we parted ways. after a while i kicked myself for not asking where he got his strap or the brand name. i have searched for wrist straps and all i have come up with is a hakuba hand stap at b&h.
this strap was adjustable for different wrists sizes and it looked like it a had a quick release from the camera.
thanks for the help in advance

Try googling up information on BIG-ED (BG-ED3), the strap is an accessory for this item I think

BTW: Think this is it: Could someone confirm, as I'm about to buy the grip myself soon..

This is something I am very interested in too. I saw this one here (http://www.optechusa.com/security.htm) but thought it would be a touch warm in summer. The "Gotcha" looks like it would be good.
I checked out Big-Ed and did not find anything that lists the strap as an accessory that comes with it.

Yes, that strap works with the 10D and BG-ED3. I kinda like it.

I too have this strap. On the whole, I like it because it gives some extra security holding the camera, specially when walking around with the camera in hanging in one hand rather than round the neck.
It does mean that you can't remove Big Ed without taking the wrist strap off.

I wish I could describe this better. If you are looking for security (not dropping your camera while handheld), you loop the neckstrap back on itself like a Yo-Yo loop and tighten it to your wrist. It does not get in the way of camera operations and it makes it so that you cannot drop your camera. I feel better about this solution than the wrist strap because it is firmly secured to your wrist.
If you can't figure out how to do it, let me know and I will try to explain it better. Its too early to describe that right now.

I used This one (http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/sc/product-features.asp?id=425787002) but now with the 28-135IS and 550EX I'm wishing I had this one (http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/sc/product-features.asp?id=425787001)
They connect to the upper neck strap place and the tripod mount, have a place for re-ataching the neck strap, and have a tripod mount on the bottom of them. Works great

Angst911 that is a nice looking strap, how come you feel the second one would be better? Seems that it might be a little warmer too. From what I understand in your post you can leave it on and place the neck strap on too? Would be nice to find a quick connect neck strap you could take on and off real quick.

I have that hand strap (and the grip) but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to be able to have both the neck strap and the hand strap attached to the camera at the same time. As a result, I have never used the hand strap!

It only works with the BG attached. This gives the extra anchor point at the bottom righthand side and an extra eyelet for the top fixing so the neck strap can fit as well.

Download the 1Ds manual in PDF from the Canon EOS site, and look on page 36. It's the clearest explanation I've seen so far.

This quick release strap is both comfortable & functional.
This was recommended to me by several folk while I was working in Calf. & I've been happy with it ever since!

The second one provides some wrist support which would be nice when having the weight of a 550EX and 28-135 IS lens on the front of the 300D. At times I'm holding my camera for 3+ hours on end w/ no place to set it down, and I'm really not a fan of neck straps

never actually seen anyone use one of these before, now i've seen it, i want one for my 10D with Grip. Anyone in UK know where to get one of these? or u know any websites that ships internationally, and sell them of course, preferrably the one with wrist support, doesn't have to be canon.
