havent got an ID yet on this little fellow - 5mm body, 20mm leg span. Found on my sitting room wall this morning (still there). Looks much more interesting close up:

That looks like a really interseting find, nicely captured - could it be a House Crab Spider ? ...

Is he a dangler by any chance? I've spotted a few of these around the house lately...
Great macro work RM... :)

In other words Philodromus dispar which is in fact the one I settled on in my Collins Guide (plate 10). this would be the male- they get their name from the disparity of the sexes. 'iridescent in good light'.
Good chance you are right.

Lovely shot (s) RM- think this is a male running crab spider- seen a few in the garden with a slight range in metallic colouring but basically blue/green.

nice shot and cool spider! i've always been interested in colorful spiders such as crab spiders and green lynx spiders. i used to keep them as pets when i was younger.

I rarely venture into the macro forum, as it has the impression of being fairly serious stuff - this little fella certainly isn't though! Great capture, of a really good little character!

I've just noticed you're in Richmond - goodness, I didn't think you got such exciting spiders in Richmond - I had assumed you were in some sub-tropical climate!
