Landscape is not my thing to be honest, but my Wife and I just got back from spending my 50th in Ireland (birthday), and I couldn't resist posting a few pics from last week.
The easiest way to explain Ireland in the least words I think is "unspoilt" Beautiful country and lovely people.

I'm going to Ireland/Scotland for a smidge over 3 weeks in July. I see you went to Powerscourt Garden. What was your impression of it? Did you feel it was worthwhile? I had it on my itenerary but scratched it, but am not re-considering going. I've got tons of questions. I'd love to hear more about your experience.

If I get a chance later, I will try my best to add some information on Ireland, best places to visit etc.

Just a cautionery note about visiting in July:
Don't be too alerted by it, but for years Northern Ireland, particularly Belfast, has experienced a LOT of disruption around the 12th of July.
The traditional Orangemen's Parades are due to take place every year on the 12th. Certain re-routing has taken place over the last decade or so and, as you can imagine, this has created some tension and sometimes road-closures and car-jacking by protesters.

It hasn't been a problem this past couple of years, and is very unlikely to flare up again, but there will be travelling difficulties around this time, especially on the 12th all over Northern Ireland, but this is solely due to the parades taking place - which, incidentally would provide great photographing opportunities. There'll be lots of colour.

Wow, I made our land of "unspoilt" beauty sound like a war zone! :)
It's not like that, but I just didn't want new visitors to experience any problems.
Some nice photographing location were mentioned in this thread earlier: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=326656

Hope this helps.
